First-person view on a wet mountain highway at night: a gloved hand holding a flashlight, fog between the firs, headlights on the bend.

the problem

World models are good at weather, mood, and fog, and bad at specific readable objects and faces. A mystery that depends on a glove, a receipt, and a time of death cannot live only in the render. The crime has to stay still while the investigation is generated.

what I did

A Knives Out-style murder mystery you investigate alone, on foot, inside a rendered Pacific Northwest town. Built in one night for Inception, a world-model hackathon run on Reactor. LingBot World 2 renders the place; a Next.js app owns the mystery; when you accuse correctly, LongLive-2.0 shows you the truth as a generated film.

Three verbs: walk, inspect, accuse. Five locations, four suspects, eight clues, two of them red herrings, six stops before dawn. You cannot see everything in one night. A clue can wait on another, so the ledger in the study is just numbers until you have seen the diner receipt. Find the glove and the highway bend grows police tape. The town changes as you learn.

method

Constraint first: one night, so the verbs had to be few. The town is first-person, rain always, fog hiding the drift, and the clue text sits on a sepia evidence board where it can stay crisp. The world model is allowed to invent weather. It is not allowed to invent the crime.

what I found

Coherence is a ledger problem. If the app remembers what you have seen, the generated world can change without lying. If it does not, the fog starts writing the plot.

open

Whether the same split, model for place, software for fact, holds for longer than a night. The repo is the one-night build, stated as a constraint, not as a product.
